History

"A generation ago, Valentino's Restaurant was known as The Tower Inn and it was one of the area's first places for fine dining, where doctors, lawyers and politicians frequently broke bread. Marion Bennett ran The Tower in the one time summer home of the Morris family." - Bob Cudmore

"After the automotive and Prohibitions had help to change a lot of outlooks on life, some local eating places began to be recognized in travel publications. The honor was first accorded to the Tower Inn, operated by Marion Bennet in the one-time Morris family summer home at Cranesville. Tower food was so excellent that it could at times overcome deep-rooted antipathy of many patrons towards the practically inescapable feline companionship provided by management."
