"After the automotive and Prohibitions had help to change a lot of outlooks on life, some local eating places began to be recognized in travel publications. The honor was first accorded to the Tower Inn, operated by Marion Bennet in the one-time Morris family summer home at Cranesville. Tower food was so excellent that it could at times overcome deep-rooted antipathy of many patrons towards the practically inescapable feline companionship provided by management."
